1929 - 3rd World Jamboree - Arrowe Park, Birkenhead, Great Britain

Weltjamboree 1929The World Jamboree returned to England and took place in Arrowe Park, Birkenhead, England. Called "Coming of Age". At this jamboree the scouts celebrated the 21st birthday of the scout movement. 50'000 scouts from 69 nations and 320'000 visitors took part. Baden-Powell was honoured as "Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell". The Girl Scouts ran a hospital on the Jamboree. There must have been a lot of rain, because also today one speaks of the 1929er mud Jamboree.
